Welcome to Many Such Takes, my twice-monthly roundup of Internet drama and discourse (mostly Twitter) and funny happenings online. If you enjoy a good guilty pleasure of unhinged discourse, this is for you. If it’s not your kind of thing, I implore you to check out my other recent articles, because while publishing 4-5 times a week, there’s always something for someone:

This week, some local news from Georgia made quite a stink, so to speak: a teacher has a designated “♪fart corner” for students who need to pass gas, with the intention of normalizing this bodily function.
While she says the fart corner hasn’t resulted in any bullying or nonsense, apparently adults, myself included, cannot be so mature about it.
I have to admit, I have a hard time believing that kids aren’t making fun of each other for this. I used to be in a summer academic program, and this one girl farted loudly, and nobody knew who it was until she said, “Excuse me.” (It didn’t help that she had a lisp, pick a struggle.) Anyway, she never really lived it down, even though technically she was being polite. Everyone knows that when it comes to farting, you should just do it and then pretend it wasn’t you!
But while we’re spitballing here, I suggest we create a designated “nose picking station.”
In case you missed it, Grand Theft Auto 6 comes out November 19 and the trailer launched this week. The graphics are ultra-realistic and people are going nuts for it. But some people are taking the “nuts” part a bit too literally, claiming (or fantasizing) that we can have graphic sex in the game which somehow includes….fluids?
My honest reaction:
Others’ reactions:
No, no, let’s focus on the real problem here: the woman providing or extracting the fluids is merely a 6. Thwarted by the feminists oncemore!
I didn’t post Many Such Takes last week on schedule because my entire TL was full of Lindsay Clancy discourse, and some things are just too horrible to be turned into a joke, but this week we finally got a reprieve because our top genderslop warriors turned to a new topic, courtesy (at least in part) of yours truly: the work that men and women do (or don’t do.)
It all started when I published the following article, which, TLDR, indicates that many women who choose to work full-time are doing it for the same reasons men are doing it (they like having money, and if they’re lucky, they also like their jobs even if they wouldn’t do it for free.)
I anticipated drama, but did not anticipate the particular type of drama that ensued. I thought that the men of Twitter might be offended by the idea that women had the same capacity for ambition as men, but in fact they went in the other direction and informed me that men (unlike women) hate their jobs, hate working, and would live in a dirty tent in the woods if anyone let them do it, but women are forcing them to go to the office. Eventually, this devolved to a bunch of guys insisting they’d rather be stay-at-home dads but men are forced to work and be miserable every minute of their lives, all so their wives can sit around at home presumably doing nothing.
That’s the thing about Twitter. Say what you will, but they will keep even the most seasoned, screen-addicted drama veteran a surprise!
Part of the drama was that some men seemed to be under the impression that all women are marketing executives, while all men are firefighters, resulting in the belief that of course women would enjoy their jobs more than men because women always have fun jobs with free matcha and men are always running into burning buildings.
Well, well, well, look whose article is relevant again
This culminated in…whatever this is:
Then, just as things were mercifully wrapping up, this quote from sociologist Susan Pickard dropped, “confirming” that there is simply no way for a woman to have kids and also be successful in her career. Oh no, NOT NOW SUSAN!
Now, while having lots of kids can be hard to swing with a career, many people of Twitter pointed out that actually, you can work and have kids, especially if your job doesn’t involve living on Mars for thirty years:
What a world, ! One can dream!
A viral funny tweet showed up on our TLs this week which spawned, say, not drama at all, just a lot of other tweets on the same topic. That topic: cunnilingus. See: above, GTA 6 fluids. It’s all connected!
Bryan Johnson, vampire billionaire who has meticulously measured his girlfriend’s “top 1% vagina” (in terms of healthy bacteria and pH of course) chimed in, because of course:
And now, a very novel take, that men who go down on women are actually just lacking in the necessary gut flora, with a side order of a racial pussy phrenology chart, which for all your sakes I will not include here. But more importantly, low bacterial diversity would, presumably, equal more odor! So much confidence for someone so misinformed on the vaginal microbiome!!
Also, at first I thought he was advocating for the consumption of vanilla-flavored vulva, but then I realized he meant “vanilla” now excludes oral sex?? (Well, on a woman, anyway.) Congrats everyone: you’re all kinky!
Anyway, I responded with my own Twitter troll post, in fact the last one I had ever posted—technically a friend’s, but I had sent him the text ahead of time and he posted as my proxy:
Ah, my Magnum Opus :*)
One piece of overlooked mini-drama this week: is it possible for an autistic person to have a form of autism that actually makes them extremely socially aware and gives them superhuman social cue detection abilities? Much to think about…
Quite a few commenters said they also had this “type” of autism, while other people threw out different, potentially overlapping diagnoses including but not limited to CPTSD, ADHD, anxiety, and OCD. Fuck it, why not ALL OF THE ABOVE?!
Or, perhaps, this is not actually a superhuman ability to detect social “queues” but rather, sensory overload:
The verdict from :
I chuckled at “my special interest is myself” because yo…that’s me as hell.
Has anyone else noticed an abundance of people identifying as “Hot,” specifically in the San Francisco Bay Area?
I worked in the San Francisco tech scene for over a decade, and an abundance of Hot Girls was absolutely not my experience, at least not when it came to actual tech employees. Nobody would have dared call themselves a “hot girl in tech” because to do so would have A.) invited people to inform them that they weren’t as hot as they thought and B.) subjected them to general ridicule. We had female founders, who perhaps emphasized the fact that they were women (being a girlboss wasn’t always a bad thing, you know) and we certainly had women in tech who were *incidentally *hot, but Hot Girls In Tech was not a thing.
The other day, tech founder Georgia Witchel penned an 𝕏essay on Twitter about a sudden rise in viral “hot girls in tech” posts, where a woman will post something about her arrival to the tech scene but the post will be more about her own hotness than anything she’s actually doing in tech:
She was not, however, condemning these women, instead pointing out that they were engaging in a form of influencing/marketing and should be left alone to do their thing.
Then, another female founder, Claire Vo, stepped in to let everyone know that actually, it’s really hard to be so beautiful while also being so smart, and to salute the “sisterhood of hot tech girls:”
People seemed particularly focused on this section of her long-form tweet, where she felt unwelcome in a computer science classroom in part because she was the only woman, but also because everyone else was so fugly:
While some people agreed with her that women are underestimated in tech when they are conventionally attractive, reactions were mixed:
Aaaand I see we’ve now reached the “look how young everyone thinks I am” one-upping part of the discourse. Right on schedule!
This guy took a stab at his own male copypasta 𝕏version of the tweet, paragraph by paragraph, noting that as a “gigachad” in tech, nobody but him cared about optimal bone structure and he felt locked out of a room that might have well said “no hot guys alllowed, manlets only.”
Now, after all that genderslop and slop (misc: other), I almost forgot to cover anything political. But don’t worry, because I somehow have a political story that is still genderslop.
Earlier this month, AOC posted a video of administering injections for egg freezing, warning viewers (ie: people on the Internet) not to “be weird.” Good luck with that one!
But many denizens of Twitter were more confused about why she would freeze eggs when she’s been in a relationship for over a decade—and engaged to the guy for more than four years.
As it turns out, they broke up before the egg freezing. With AOC now single and entertaining a 2028 presidential run, she’s put herself in possibly the most confusing and psychosexual place on Twitter.
I actually do not mind or judge AOC’s egg-freezing journey videos, in part because I underwent a similar process when my husband and I did IVF, and I posted about it a lot. When you’re undergoing any kind of fertility treatment, you can really feel like you’re the only one in the world doing it, and seeing other people in your boat can make you feel better! That said, I did wonder if these videos would be a net negative for her odds at a 2028 primary win, especially since many people on Twitter were saying things like this:
Yeah, to be honest, this person is not screaming “Democratic Primary Voter.”
In fact, according to Polymarket, AOC is now the most favored candidate for the 2028 Democratic Primary:
Was it the egg freezing? The breakup? Denouncing “Woke 1?” The potential of a mass wave of horny primary voters? Or maybe just that…a lot of people like her and always have? Given that JD Vance is the clear favorite for the Republican nomination, I’m not sure we’re ready for the most terminally online general election ever. Well, I’m ready. Maybe Many Such Takes will have to become weekly again.
Right wing Twitter discovered the concept of “the linear passage of 25 years:”
Musical satirist Kyle Gordon has finally parodied the music of my youth, but unfortunately the song is just way too catchy:
Someone is trying to 𝕏rain (quite literally) on Dr. Smells’ parade:
And, whatever this is:
