Welcome to Many Such Takes, my twice-monthly roundup of Internet drama and discourse (mostly Twitter) and funny happenings online. If you enjoy a good guilty pleasure of unhinged discourse, this is for you. If it’s not your kind of thing, I implore you to check out my other recent articles, because while publishing 4-5 times a week, there’s always something for someone.
This week I covered the “mystery” of men’s physical preferences, the importance of leaning into your type, and on the political parties people want to date the most and least.
Also, I need more respondents for some of my latest surveys!
I need more respondents to rate digital SFW bodies of men and women. Take this survey
here! It’s long, so just scroll down and press submit whenever you get bored. Please take this
surveyabout romantic and platonic socialization. Everyone is eligible, but it would be extra helpful for me to get more autistic and neurodivergent respondents.Plus, another new study on
sexuality and hypotheticalsAnd please take this
oneon your social life and how it intersects with your career (or lack thereof)
Also, check out my appearance on where I discussed the KN95 lesbian bar (more to come below) among other hot topics of the week with and :
I could not in good faith do a Many Such Takes without talking about the KN95 lesbian bar story from the Boston Globe. Basically, a small town lesbian bar in western Massachusetts had a requirement for patrons to wear an KN95 “or better” mask well into 2026. When some customers complained about this requirement, the owners attempted to compromise by removing the mask mandate for one day a week. (That’s right, one day.) The more vocal detractors from this new policy accused the bar owners of eugenics, genocide, ableism, and of wanting to host a “hate and discrimination night.”
First of all, I already wrote a deep dive on this situation (and why I believe it resonated so much with left-lib Twitter) which you can find here:
However, Many Such Takes will primarily cover the facts of the social media response, as opposed to my theories and cultural analysis, which you can find in that article.
The rest of Many Such Takes is “free-walled,” which means the rest of the content will appear below after you subscribe, free or paid.
